First of all a big thank you to each and every one of you! Did you know you are always assisting me even when you might think that’s not possible? Well, do I have a story for you. My jewelry and scarves are about to be shipped to the Mingei International Museum in San Diego. It’s all because of one of you, my fans! One of the staff members for the museum wore my scarf design to the Mingei Museum which has been closed for 3 years due to remodeling. Everyone there loved it! So, I ate my turkey (or might I say the fabulous duck with cherry sauce Keith cooked ) right away and ran off to the studio. The order went out this week. If you’re in San Diego, be sure and take a look in their shop where I’m told they have a chain mail curtain as well. I want to see it, I want to see it, I want to see it….
I can’t wait to have a chance to visit the Mingei with its focus on folk art, craft and design. The museum’s mission is to celebrate human creativity with the belief that useful objects can also be works of beauty. Could my artwork line up any better with them? Even their custom made benches are created from a gigantic root burl by architect and artist Billie Tsien. I know that, whenever I’m able to visit, I’ll have a sacred place to sit. The Mingei bench pictured above is another artistic bench in the museum.
New Pieces!
I’m continuing to add new pieces to the website throughout December so keep checking in. The Blossom Scarf is now available! I sent one off to San Francisco and quickly made a new one as it’s such a beautiful scarf ending in what looks like an Art Deco Blossom. And, be sure to contact me with any questions you may have. I always love hearing from you!
