I’m going on a journey, come along!
Can we just acknowledge that our feelings do not want to be ignored during this time? It’s been a whirlwind for me and I can only imagine what it’s been like for you. So I’ll continue to breathe in the guidance and listen for the next step cause that’s all I have right now. The joy is here too; I’m feeling all the emotions at once and to only bump into one at a time seems impossible. It’s like pushing through the fog to land in the seas of grief; or peeling back the layer of a cloud revealing anguish; to running through the banks of clouds, right into a rainbow of delight. Can I choose which one to be in at all times? Maybe it’s time to acknowledge, yes, I can feel. And in that mode of feeling, two more objects were created for my 30 objects for $50.00 each project. I’ve found my mood can change rapidly if I go to work in the studio. Where is your mood changer? Feel free to let me know; I can always use some tips.
As I played with another idea using “Authentic Metal Lace”, a headband came
into form, titled “Inspired Iris”. Iris was the Greek Goddess of the rainbow who represented the bridge between heaven and earth in a number of mythologies including the Rainbow Bridge of Norse paganism and the Road of the Gods in Japan. Since the nickel circle opens in the third eye area, I’m seeing it as a symbolic source of inspiration and intuition. We could all use the guidance of our intuitive messages and I’m counting on this piece to help with receiving information. “Inspired Iris” is definitely an agent for engaging the “strangely empowering” effects called for in this time.
I also found myself playing with several
elements: four silver circles with holes already drilled, two silver beads, and some silver wire. What to do with these? After slightly doming the circles with a dapping block, I noticed the silver bead fit between the two elegantly. Here’s where the silver wire came in handy. The wire became a spoke to hold all of it together. And, all the parts still moved. In any case, the shapes presented themselves as earrings to me. Whimsical Earrings! Yippee! I laughed as I saw how the shapes related. See, here I am in my state of joy, even if only in a moment. It’s the moments that count not the imagined future or the past. And, I’m learning to accept and honor all of my feelings whenever they happen. Allow and be with them as they are your teachers.
