The simple answer this month is “Ojai”. Elaine is the featured artist in the window of Human Arts in downtown Ojai. Human Arts is owned by Hallie (an artist in her own right) and Stan Katz who have been supporting independent artists for 4o years by featuring them in their beautiful gallery. In addition to carrying a number of local artists, the gallery has work from artists all over the United States, around 150 artists in all. Here’s that window:
While Elaine is featured this month, you can always find her work at the gallery. I encourage you to visit the website (humanartsgallery.com) and see the marvelous work from other Ojai artists and beyond. Thank you Stan and Hallie for being so good to us over the years.
Speaking of other Ojai artists, the second place to find Elaine’s work in Ojai this month, and through July 5th, is the Ojai Valley Museum (ojaivalleymuseum.org/) as a part of the Ojai Studio Artist’s exhibition “Condition Report – the State of OSA in 2015”. Elaine’s piece is a purse unlike any she has done previously. You can only see it by visiting the exhibition.
I’ve written about the Ojai Studio Artists before, they do good work in the community. Their mission statement is “To create an environment where artists thrive – professional and student alike – and fulfill the potential of the arts to enrich lives and build community.
